Just the Biggest Life Changing Event...No Big Deal!

Teagan Spencer Randle joined our family August 3, 2010. He weighed in at 7 lbs 12 oz and 20.5 in long. He wasn't too happy to come into the world, but we knew his lungs were working becuase he cried as soon as he came out and the whole time they were cleaning him. He was anxious to see what he had been missing. He came out wide eyed looking around and taking everything in.

The Birth Story:
We headed up to my parents cabin Monday, August 2nd with my entire family since they were all in town. I had been feeling a little off that day, but nothing too unusual. We were cleaning up, getting ready to take off and I was putting my niece in her carseat and I hear a pop and then a sudden urge to go to the bathroom. I stood up to rush to the bathroom thinking it was odd that I had to go because I had literally just gone. When I stood up to go a rush of fluid came out and I thought, "Did I really just pee my pants? No, I just went and pretty sure I don't have that much pee." I looked at Spencer and said I think my water just broke. I walked in the kitchen where all my sisters and mom were and one look and my sister said, "We're having a baby!" Of course I started crying. Before we left the cabin, Spencer gave me a sweet and tender Priesthood blessing, which I will always remember! The ride down the canyon was intense and not much was said. I think both Spencer and I were in shock!

My water broke at 10:30pm.

We went straight to American Fork Hospital. Me being the procrastinator that I am, I didn't have a hospital bag packed or anything, but my sweet sister, Lisa went to my house and brought me everything I needed.

When I got settled they checked me and I was only dilated to a 1. They said they would wait 2 hours and start me on pitocin. I got my epidural and they started me on pitocin shortly after. I was able to sleep for 4 hours during the night, which wasn't a very restful sleep. They came and checked me at 7:00am and I was only at a 3. When they came back at 10:00am to check me again I was dilated to a 10. I pushed a few times for the nurses and they called the doc in. I seriously only pushed for 20 minutes and he was here. It was a crazy experience, but I couldn't have asked for a better labor and delivery.

He was born at 10:35am.

There are still days that I can't believe that I am a mom. But I can't complain because he is such a good baby. He sleeps about 3-4 hours at a time during the night and he is a pretty good napper during the day.
I can't leave out the cute motorcycle pictures that we took! We found a really cute black motorcycle shirt and since Spencer is huge into motorcycles we had to get a picture of him on the one. We love Teagan so much and we are so grateful to have his sweet spirit in our home!

Special Delivery!

So something special is arriving in the mail shortly. I can't wait, probably because it is one of the first items that I have purchased for the little guy that is not clothes.

I keep thinking I have time to purchase the essential things like a crib, stroller/carseat, diapers, and so forth. Oh the time is quickly approaching....less than 9 weeks. It's ok, no need to stress I have enough of that in my life.

HAWAII...{babymoon and anniversary celebration}

We headed to the great island of Oahu, Hawaii at the beginning of May with our good friends, Mike and Paige, for a little getaway. It was the last big vacation before the baby comes and it was also to celebrate our 2nd anniversary, which was on May 3.

We had a great time and wish we could have stayed longer, but I think that is how all vacations are. It was so fun to go with Mike and Paige. Paige is also pregnant and is due about three weeks before I am. Paige and I had a great time laying on the beach, talking about being pregnant and becoming parents.

Most of the time that we were there consisted of laying on the beach up at North Shore, eating great food, and swimming in the ocean.

We definitely got our sugar intake. We stopped at the Dole Plantation twice and the shave ice place twice. Each time was delicious!

We kayaked to a little island, which I believe was a bird preservation. We had a two man kayak and kayaked about 30 minutes in the wide open ocean. It was a lot of fun. To be honest, I did most of the paddling, my slacker of a husband made his pregnant wife do all the work....nah, he did most of the work and let me take little breaks when I needed to! Once there, we had Subway sandwiches that we brought with us and Mike and Spencer hiked around the island.

We ate at a place called the Shore Bird. It is such a fun atmosphere and great food. It is right on the beach and you get to grill your own meat. Spencer and I have been there before with my family and it was just as good the second time around.

Blogging about this trip makes me wish I was back in Hawaii! I do love having the sand between my toes and having no worries. Maybe I should start planning our next vacation. It might not happen for a few years, but can dream.

{Our baby boy should be arriving in about 9 weeks. I have so much to do in that short time}

And We Are Back...For Now!

Well for those of you who still read my blog, I appreciate that you still come. It has only been a few days since my last post...oh wait, it has been a few months. Life has been crazy, but mostly in a good crazy kind of way. To be honest I haven't felt like blogging about life....even though there are huge and exciting changes coming our way.

Here are just a few pictures of what we have been up to the past months:

Spencer graduated from his training in Sierra Vista, AZ.

We were sad to leave because we made some great friends.

We started the journey home to Utah.

We stopped at the Grand Canyon,

and Panguitch, UT because that is where my Grandma Cameron grew up.

Last year we started a tradition with the Morse's to cut down our own xmas tree. This year we didn't have our own home to put a xmas tree up, but we still had to continue the tradition. So we went out with the Morse's and helped them cut it down. It was very different than last year because there was snow, 2008 we were cutting down a tree without coats. It was a blast this year and they got a cute little tree!

That is the end of the pictures that I have, but we have more exciting news.
  1. We are buying a townhome in Saratoga Springs. It is being built right now and we are hoping that it will be completed here in the next few weeks.
  2. The biggest news of all is....I am PREGNANT! I am 19 weeks. I am due August 11th. It still feels very surreal, but we are super excited and can't wait to meet this little baby. Well actually I can wait, I still need time to prepare! Disclaimer: you will never see growing belly shots of me while I am pregnant...sorry!
Well that is it for us for now. I am going to try and be a better blogger, but I make no promises!
