Saks Fifth Ave, Macy's, Wicked, and the Rockettes

Last week Spencer and I went to New York. For the first part of the week I was out there on business and he was in Utah doing finals. Then he came and met me mid way through the week. We had such a good time it was just what we needed New York at Christmas. It was a bit cold and one day it just poured rain, but it was so fun to be there and shop and hang out with my sister, Minde, and her family. We did some shopping, saw The Christmas Spectacular at the Radio City Music hall, saw the Rockefeller Center tree, ate some Soul food (fried chicken and waffles for bfast) and even won tickets for the play Wicked, which made the trip. New York is beautiful at Christmas I love all the lights and decorations and truly the hustle and bustle of the holidays and of New York every day living.

I should mention that today is the anniversary of when Spencer and I got engaged it has been one whole year since that moment happen. The journey thus far has been just that a journey and I can't wait to experience life's greatest disappointments, and joys with my best friend. Love ya babe

TIMBER! OH Chirstmas Tree

So my friend Sarah had a great idea...this year we would go with our husbands to cut down our own Christmas trees together. Spencer had to wake up early the day after Thanksgiving and go purchase our permit to cut down a tree. Well what I didn't realize is that we were going to have to drive three hours away to cut down a tree that we would have up in our house for only three weeks, but anywho. We took the long journey a couple of weeks ago up by the Idaho-Utah border to find the perfect Christmas tree. We had such a great time! Once we found the place where we could cut a tree down (we got a little lost) we hiked up and down the mountains and found two perfect Christmas trees. This is our tree that we found. It was one of the first ones we saw, but we had to make sure it was the one. We finally came back to it an hour later since we couldn't find one better.

When we first talked about doing this during the first part of November we thought there would be snow up there by the beginning of December. We were actually kind of excited to snowshoe in and pack it out. There was no snow (thank goodness) and it was quite warm, hence why we aren't wearing coats.

Jason just had to bring an ax up just for a picture..he does look very mountain men like

Here is Sarah and Jason carrying their tree out.

Thanks Sarah for the fun idea we loved hanging out with you guys!
